The Hardest Worker Alive: Cameron Hanes
“There is literally no one like him” (Joe Rogan)
I’ve listened to 100+ hrs of podcasts with him and read his book 5 times.
Here’s his mindset in 10 steps for you to become the best in your field (especially if you’re not talented)
Who is Cameron Hanes?
Husband
• Father of 3
• Works a regular 9-5
• Runs a marathon most days
• Under Armour’s longest-sponsored athlete
• Bowhunter (average success is 10%, Cameron's is 100%)
His mindset applies to anyone and any endeavour.
Let’s dive in:
You’re either obsessed or your average
It doesn’t matter if you’re physically gifted, super smart or talented.
The only variable that counts is how obsessed you are.
What can you not stop thinking about?
Are you willing to give it your all?
“Be the exception. Break the chain. Burst through the bonds of low expectations”
Dream bigger, achieve more
If you know what you’re after, make it bigger.
You can achieve so much more than you’ve been conditioned to believe.
All you need to start is:
• focus
• hard work
• dedication
Answer the call
Every great story starts with a call, a friend or mentor reaching out.
But you need to be ready when that call comes.
Where is your call coming from?
Are you ready to take action?
Don’t let them outwork you
Maybe you’re naturally not set up to win, but start asking yourself: What if?
What if you work harder than those competing against you?
What if you stay consistent?
What if you start today?
“The only thing that sets me apart is my drive to do more and expect more from myself all while ignoring the doubters and naysayers that are always trying to sabotage us dream chasers”
Love the struggle
Getting up at 4.55am, is a struggle.
Putting in more reps than you feel like, is a struggle.
Choosing to work on your craft instead of relaxing, is a struggle.
Do you love the daily grind enough to reach your goal? Can you embrace the struggle?
There’s enough cake for everyone
Foster an abundance mindset.
You have an edge in something.
Find it, obsess about it and go exploit it.
There’s room for you to be the best at whatever you put your mind to.
Stay on the path
Motivation will get you going, but only discipline will get you to the finish line.
Build your environment to support your goals.
Put in the reps when no one is watching.
Create accountability partnerships.
Make each day count.
Must be nice
When you’re successful, you’ll hear the critics.
They'll find excuses why you got it done, and they didn’t.
The ‘must-be-nicers’ are using their envy to bring you down. Don’t fall for it.
Build a network of people who will help you succeed.
Look at your last five text messages:
Who are they from? • Do these people uplift you? • Are they making you better? • Will they help you succeed with your goal?
Keep Hammering
“It’s a reference that reminds us to pound away at the lie of impossible”
Every day is a new chance for you to forge the life you’re after.
How lucky are you, all you need is hard work and dedication.
Answer the call, embrace discomfort and keep hammering.
“The human body is capable of amazing things if we get out of our own way mentally. For those who say it’s ‘too much’ to hammer every day with all you have, I can’t relate to that mindset. And I don’t want to.”
Cameron’s book ‘Endure’ is already my most gifted book. With a foreword from Joe Rogan and an afterword from David Goggins, this book is the ideal fuel to chase your dreams.
Cameron Hanes' mindset will help you win:
• Find your obsession
• Be prepared to sacrifice
• Gather people who uplift you
• Fall in love with discomfort and the grind
• Work hard, outlast your competition and keep hammering
