How To Stay Fit With Your Family

I'm fitter at 36 with 6 kids than when I was 19 and single.

Because we've got to see our kids as motivation and not excuses.

Here're 7 ways to take your fitness to the next level WITH your family:

1. Make uncommon choices

There's a reason why it's more challenging to maintain your fitness with kids around.

You've got less time for yourself, sleepless nights, snacks fill the kitchen, etc.

So don't do what others do. Instead do dips in the holiday house kitchen.

2. Go on adventures together

Having kids is an invitation to make unforgettable memories that'll stay with you all for a lifetime.

These memories get crafted when you get outside and explore the world.

Go hiking up mountains, canoeing across lakes or swimming in the sea.

3. Make time to stay fit as a couple

Nothing is more important for your kids than having a loving home and fit parents.

Sometimes it means covering for each other so the other one can work out,

Also find activities that help you stay connected plus fit at the same time.

4. Work out with your kids

Your kids see everything and the number one way they learn is through imitation.

Find ways to work out with them and teach them how to train effectively.

Start by lifting objects, carrying weights, running and callisthenics.

5. Cook together

Fitness starts in the kitchen as no amount of training can outwork a bad diet.

Make meals together with your kids and teach them about nutrients.

Food is the best preventative medicine.

6. Sign up for races as a family

Exercising can be fun, but you need to test yourself and have scary goals to push yourself.

Kids love overcoming their limits and it teaches them vital life skills.

Racing alongside your kids makes for unforgettable memories.

7. Have a home gym

If you want to work out regularly in a household with young kids, time is of the essence.

Avoiding any travel to the gym and being flexible to train when you can is crucial.

A home gym lets you lift heavy one minute and then change a diaper the next.
